Sounds like a great time overall. To hit as many spots as you did, splitting is the only way to go for sure! (As long as you don't get the hairy eyeball from servers like some places we know)

I actually thought most of the meals were pretty reasonably priced, especially since we split pretty much everything. Didn't drink much, but The Spotted Pig had some excellent (and strong) cocktails.

Yeah, Katz's pastrami is pretty much the ne plus ultra of NYC food.

The problem with bad NYC food experiences is that they can be expensive. Unfortunately, the last food ticket of the night gets the last food ticket of the night attention no matter what, huh? Watery burger? Sounds like it was domed and steamed to hurry it along. Pricks.

But, overall, it sounds like you two had a great time. Any places you liked for beers/cocktails?

I would hardly call Met Back Bay a "phenomenal" restaurant. I am hard to please, that much is true, but it's never about bashing top notch restaurants, more about me not liking a burger. Just an opinion.

You are a hard man to please. The amount of phenomenal restaurants that you have bashed on this blog is insane.

"If you’re going to talk the talk you’d better be able to walk the walk, and the Dry-Aged burger at Met Back Bay clearly has issues walking and talking at the same time."

Rough review, guess I can skip this place. Have you been to the Met restaurant in Chestnut Hill? They advertise Burger Mondays I wonder if it's the same bad burger? http://bostonchefs.com/news/event/2011/12/5/burger-mondays-at-the-metropolitan-club/
